Make plans to attend our 1st Annual Connections Summit on Saturday, April 20th, from 9:30am to 1pm! Childcare provided for children potty trained through 11 years of age! We have over 20 presentation rooms and 35 vendor tables scheduled to participate with topics including but not limited to Financial Services & Management, Parenting & Community Support, Mental Health & Substance Abuse, and Student Support! We will also have the MOCHIP Program for all ages, College & Career Fair, and Job Fair available. This is created to impact all age groups! Mark this event on your calendars! It has been created with YOU in mind! We have 3 major topics for at least 21 different breakout presentations that will be provided at 3x so you have options! There will be a Job Fair in the cafeteria, College Fair in the gym, vendor/agency tables in the hallways, MOCHIP at main entrance in cafeteria, and childcare provided for children who are potty trained up to the age of 11 in the library. Hello HPSD Tigers, Our Director of Counseling & Community Outreach, Dr. Brandy Yarbrough, and I are planning a community event, Connections Summit, that is open to Hancock Place, Affton, Bayless, Mehlville, and Lindbergh families, including staff and their families. It is scheduled for April 20, 2024, from 9:30am to 1pm. This will be the inaugural for such an event, so we have created the structure and plans to the best of our abilities. The purpose is to provide attendees with resources, learning opportunities, and networking. Please read the below for more information. In summary, we will have opportunities for and/or relevant to all age groups, including but not limited to: Gym: Opening with Introductions and the College Fair tables Cafeteria: Job/Career Fair tables; spaces for on the spot interviews if desired Cafeteria: MOCHIP for child identification packets for all ages who wish to participate and is being facilitated by the Craftsman Lodge Library: Childcare available for those who are potty trained through 11 years of age Classrooms on the lower level: Breakout presentations to include various topics falling under Money Management (budgeting, credit repair, and banking/investments); Parenting/Community Support (Internet Safety, Parent Support, Programming and Support, ELL Family Support, and College and Career Prep); and Mental Health/Substance Abuse (Drugs/Mental Health, Mental Health First Aid, CHADS, and other Counseling Agencies) Hallways: Tables for Various Vendors such as Feed My People, The Housing Partnership, St. Louis County Library, Various Pantries, Agencies, St. Martha's, South County Tech, and others are all possibilities. It is a FREE event for attendees, presenters, vendors, etc. We will have concessions set up for those who are interested. I attached a flyer, including a QR code that will link to information regarding the event, such as: colleges, companies, vendors, childcare, MOCHIP, and other opportunities available. Matthew McKay won the Cafeteria "Breakfast Scratch" off contest. Chartwells celebrated National School Breakfast Week by giving away "Breakfast Scratch Off" tickets. Matthew ate Breakfast every day to play the game and won a 10speed Mountain bike.
